Hi there! This is Maushumee and I'm an artist who loves to tell stories! I mostly create art based in Mandala, Pattachitra and Madhubani styles but I love to experiment and keep learning.

So once upon a time, in a place far far away, I stumbled across a marvelous Madhubani painting that quickly caught my attention. It was a stunning depiction of Radha Krishna, the most revered and loved pair of deities in India. As I explored and learned about Madhubani style of art, the intricacies of the style, the minute details and vibrant motifs, they were just enough of a nudge for me to start drawing myself. I enjoyed every bit of it. And there, my journey in the field of visual arts started! I quickly explored the soulful art of Mandalas and indulged in it for a while. Pattachitra came much later to me but stayed in my heart forever. The storytelling DNA of Pattachitra matched mine and I was hooked. Today, I draw in all these styles individually and create fusion art as well. I have tried my hand at Zentangle as well and love to learn new styles everyday.

I have been drawing in these styles since 2016 but I have been an avid reader first. As a child, I found myself lost in the world of books and loved hearing stories from everybody around. I come from a family of artists and writers so stories were always a part of conversation. Blessed by good teachers and friends, this spirit was fostered even further. As I started drawing, I found a great medium to illustrate and tell stories that I was bursting with. Drawing based on a theme or a story is a delight to me. 

I believe that art has the power to transport us, to connect us to something larger than ourselves. This website serves as a window into my artistic world, a space where you can dive into my diverse collection of Mandalas, Pattachitras, and Madhubani artworks.
